For beginner children, I like to use the Suzuki Method. For adults and intermediate to advanced children, I use a combination of books from different authors e.g. Taffanel Gaubert Flute Method, Marcel Moyse books, for technique development and also many pieces from the classical repertory. I also let the students choose pieces of any style that theyre interested in playing and they can handle. When I attended Rhode Island School of Design, I performed  flute and piccolo in the Brown University Orchestra and also studied flute at Boston University. Throughout the years, I have taken Master classes with Orchestral Flutists such as Julius Baker of the New York Philharmonic and Jeannie Baxtresser in Tanglewood, Mass. Even though my Major was Art and  I made a living as an art teacher in the public school system, my love for flute and music was always present as I would often incorporate music and flute playing into my art lessons. I try to balance those responsibilities to a point that the student will always be learning something new as long as I work on their motivation and consistency of keeping up so they can learn how to play anything they like and want.
