I have almost 15 years experience tutoring Viola, Violin and Piano. I have taught at Manuel Saumel elementary music school and Amadeo Roldan Music High School back in my native Havana, Cuba.  I am always looking for new ways to engage the student with interactive games, and taking advantages of technology . For beginner students of violin I always start with the suzuki method and alternate it with the "The new directions" method, while after 3 or 4 weeks I start with some repertoire according to how the student evolves. In the case of piano I start with John Thompson's methodology "Teaching little fingers to play", alternated with exercises of the book Junior Hanon for piano, I try to evaluate the student qualitatively before quantitatively at least once a month. My first experience teaching was during the summer when I began instructing swim lessons for the town pool. I quicly began to seek out a way to teach music before I was in college and built a small studio of beginner cellists in my home town. I also began performing in both classical and other styles during this time, something I continue to do today.
