I started teaching in 2012, I took some time off after school and traveled to Shanghai-China. There I taught at Rubato Music, a private music studio. I gave lessons to children and adults, had my first experience introducing the instrument to novice students. I took notes from colleague and learned from more experienced teachers on ways to better explain/demonstrate lesson material. I began teaching 13 years ago though the Yamaha Teaching program, followed by giving private lessons 13 years ago back in my college years and have been teaching students all around the world since then, both in person in California, and through Zoom, online. I also offer college and career advisement as well as help in competition and audition preparations. My teaching experience is based on my own lessons with my piano and flute teachers. I am lucky to have studied under some fantastic professors of music from cal state long beach. I encourage students to try new instruments and motivate them to learn their favorite pop songs. My time in marching band throughout high school was a great relief from schoolwork for me.
