The teaching experience I have, started at the university, with some colleagues that wished to learn to sing better or to just for Hobbie. For the past 5 years I have helped many singers, professional and young students in different styles of music, in classical, pop and mariachi. As a social service for my university I gave lessons to kids, and conducted choral pieces with senior students and adults. Typically, I favor using traditional curriculum for beginning students (Alfred, Faber, Bastian). As a student progresses we typically incorporate Clemeneti sonatinas and the students favorite pop/modern songs. When a student achieves an advanced level of difficulty curriculum is purchased depending on the student's goals, college aspirations, and learning objectives. I typically administer a Classical Method of education, whether in private lessons or the classroom. For beginning piano students, I use the method books from Faber's Piano Adventures series. If the student gets bored with one method book, I will mostly likely top it off with something else from Alfred. I stress mostly on counting proper rhythm, learning alphabets, and finger numbers for early age groups. For intermediate students, I would expect students toalreadybe able to read music aside from the rhythm challenges.
