For beginner piano students I generally work out the Faber Piano Adventures and for adults I use The Older Beginner Piano Course by Bastien. For Flute students I use the Trevor Wye Beginners Book for the Flute. Clarinet I use the Rubank Method books. I am also working through the Assembly Theater in northern Rhode Island as one of their two pool music directors. I have worked at ccri as a student tutor and assistant teacher. During that time, I taught a couple of students in voice and ran a choir. The choir has performed many times in multiple venues such as the RI state house. Born in Tehran, Nava P. started her musical training at the age of 10. After years of training, she later moved to the United States to pursue her passion at the University of Utah under the guidance of Professor Caitlyn Valovick Moore (Piccolo Player in the Utah Symphony) and Lisa Byrnes (Associate Principal Flute in the Utah Symphony) on the Matthews Music Scholarship and the Gochnour Flute Scholarship. Nava was the recipient of the most prestigious music award, the Presser Undergrad Scholar Award, for the 2019-2020 academic year at the University of Utah. Read More

In fall of 2022 I traveled to Vienna, Austria to study flute performance, chamber music, and composition. I was a finalist in the International Music Competition and a Platinum Awardee in the Beethoven Music Competition. I have also had the great privilege of performing at the La Melodieuse festival with composer Yuko Uebayashi and flutist Carol Wincenc. This means treating each student as an individual, recognizing that each student may have different goals and learning styles, and teaching and planning lessons accordingly. I believe strongly in teaching from a place of encouragement and empathy. Lessons are a safe space for students to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow.
