There will be supplemental materials, especially for more advanced students, that are instrument specific such as etudes and technical exercises. We will continue focusing on band literature, contemporary, classical, or solo literature depending on the goals of the students and their interests. I began teaching music in high school by leading flute sectionals in the marching band and music theory to my fellow choir members. I focused on performing during my undergraduate studies; then had the opportunity to share my musical talents in a different way when I began my music therapy career. In 2012 I graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor's Degree in Jazz Studies. Since then, I have moved to Nashville, earned my Master's Degree from Belmont University in 2014, and have began my professional career as a freelance saxophonist. I have had the chance to perform and record in some of Nashville's most historic venues and recording studios. As they love what they are doing and how well they are succeeding, student often develop a wanting to put more and more work into their playing.
