Currently, I am pursuing a Bachelor of Music Performance focusing in Flute under the amazing Dr. Cobus du Toit at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Teaching music to students of all ages has brought me so much joy. I love seeing how music makes a great impact on the lives of those I teach. This program allowed her to study with Othonas Gkogkas, principal flutist of the Thessaloniki Orchestra. She performed a recital at the University of Macedonia consisting of solo and chamber works. Ms. Kaitlin H. has also attended and performed in masterclasses with Carol Wincenc, Paul Edmund Davies, and Dr. Andrea Loewy. After I graduated with my bachelors in Music Performance, I moved to Central Asia where I helped to open a music school for underprivileged children, and I played in the National Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra. For elementary students and some middle schoolers, I usually either work out of Standard of Excellence or Essential Elements book 1 to begin their studies or continue where they left off. For high schoolers and more advanced middle schoolers, I like to have them play solo flute pieces that fit with their ability level.
