Hello! My name is Amanda, and I am 28! I am a multi instrumentalist: I play drums, percussion, guitar, and piano. But, for teaching my love is for drum set and percussion! I have played for over 17 years now and taught for 3! I play in multiple gigging bands ranging from blues to rock and R&B. I went to school for music/ percussion and I love sharing my knowledge. I’ve performed with churches, college Rock and Jazz ensembles, and recorded for several local groups. I enjoy Jazz, Latin, and World music. I began teaching after graduating high school and have continued to do so ever since. During these years I attended college at California State University Chico, where I earned my Bachelor's degree as an audio engineer. This journey greatly helped me grow as a musician, teacher, leader, and engineer. Through out my college years I continued to play in bands both through my school and locally in our community, started my own business to help local musicians gain recognition and improve their skills, gained a new appreciation for musicianship and creativity through the eyes of an audio engineer, and of course taught my students to improve their musical abilities. Not only do I teach students how to play or create music, but also how to successfully set goals and achieve them. Every musician should have a goal in mind when practicing. Learning how to manage that goal can be tricky. I like to work together with students to take their goals and break them down smaller into more manageable pieces for them to master. I love teaching and sharing the joy of music with others! In 2011, I graduated from University of Colorado at Boulder with a Bachelor's in Percussion Performance. I've performed all over the world on cruise ships and touring with artists. I've played in numerous bands in the Los Angeles area of all genres.
