I am passionate about continuing the education of music in our society. In spring 2014 I graduated from Berklee College of Music with a BM. I’ve performed with churches, college Rock and Jazz ensembles, and recorded for several local groups. I enjoy Jazz, Latin, and World music. My methods vary on the student and subject. Beginning students will typically focus more on technical pieces of music to improve on certain aspects of a few pieces to perform. More advanced students will still practice technical parts of their music, but less time will be spent on it during a lesson. Advanced level students will spend more time on repertoire and performance. The more advanced a student gets, the more I expect them to practice outside of lessons and apply their newly learned technical skills into their music on their own. Read More

Hello! My name is Amanda, and I am 28! I am a multi instrumentalist: I play drums, percussion, guitar, and piano. But, for teaching my love is for drum set and percussion! I have played for over 17 years now and taught for 3! I play in multiple gigging bands ranging from blues to rock and R&B. I went to school for music/ percussion and I love sharing my knowledge. I adapt my teaching style to the unique needs of each individual student. If a student needs to go at a particular pace in order to truly master a concept, I will never rush them through it in order to meet any deadline. I want to make sure each student has an extremely solid foundation in their fundamental technique so that they can expand their capabilities. My philosophy for quality music education has three main parts: appreciation, practice, literacy. I braid all three of these parts into each lesson, with a student focused approach. I strongly believe that anyone at any age and abilities can learn enjoy making music. Teaching is all about relating it to the student. Making sure the student is engaged. I adapt to the student and teach them what they want to learn. I'm always here to help and guide the student to what they should know or how they should be playing, but it's ultimately up to them how they're accomplishing everything.
