I believe that repetition and the reduction of speed are essential for learning, mastering and remembering technique and the nuances of music. I encourage each student to explore the style or genre of music that is most appealing to them. Since 1992, Teaching private drum lessons, beginner to advanced, all styles (Jazz, Latin, Rock, Classical,etc.) Successfully prepare students for auditions at performing arts highschools in the New York area such as LaGuardia Performing Arts High School. Also was on the faculty at Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, Turtle Bay Music School, Henry Street Settlement and Rock Academy as well as freelance jobs at Teacher's College and Bard College. Nothing makes me happier than having the opportunity to share my love of music and guitar. Upon graduating from Skidmore College in 2000, I was accepted to Florida State University to the classical guitar program under the study of Bruce Holzman. I feel my decision to simultaneously work towards two masters degrees speaks clearly for my motivation and passion towards music. Growing up between New Haven, CT, and Orange, CT, Ryan received his formal training at Neighborhood Music School and Educational of the Arts.
