Will doesn't believe to just pointing to a page in a drum book and telling a student to 'play this'. Instead, the 'page in the book' is a tool utilized to springboard into other topics, and vise versa. All students will learn basic music theory as it applies to the drumset, basic rudiments, stickings, hand technique/grip, foot technique, improvisation, etc. Ultimately, Will enjoys seeing the student taking any sort of interest in general, and while there's a lot one can learn, it's more important to him that the student is enjoying the time spent at the instrument, discovering their own interests with the instrument, and tapping into their creative side via the instrument! Teaching people to be musicians is probably the best thing I can think of doing as a career in my life, other than of course performing live and playing with bands and making music. I would love to teach people how to play music so that they can teach others and the world can be full of music. Together, we can help change the world. Playing music for charity and benefits is something I also do. Read More

It is very important to make each student progress at his or her own pace. This is done by setting realistic goals for each student at each lesson, keeping them inspired and interested in learning more. When you acknowledge students based on their accomplishments, it helps to fuel them a desire to progress and make them interested in learning more. Finding out what are his/her inspirations it makes it easier to fit my instruction to their wants and needs. Read More

I have found the last few years very rewarding as students become musicians. Since my first student I taught in 2004, through the days I taught at a music school, up right on to the present moment, I love passing the music onward as it was passed to me. Being a multi generational musician, it's important to me to teach this great artform and pass it down through generations. I also like to let my students know that "music lasts a lifetime." Because, if my students practice the material five days a week, for a minimum of 30 minutes, their skills as well as confidence will grow. Read More

I began teaching lessons over five years ago. I never pictured myself being an educator, but I was surprised how fulfilling it was. I encourage hard work and consistent practice, but try to craft my excercizes to that the student will be fully interested and engaged. It is truly rewarding to watch a student grow and develop as result of our work together. I try to adapt each students' lessons to fir their interests. Read More

I started playing drums at age 11. My father played trombone in the NY Philharmonic, so I was fortunate to study with the renowned Elden "Buster" Bailey. After high schoolI attended the Juilliard School. Later I began teaching at a couple local music stores. That is when I discovered my love for teaching. It's very rewarding to see a student develope into a fine drummer and musician. Read More
