During my years in Poland I was acclaimed for my exceptional way of interpreting the romantic composers and specially the music of Frederic Chopin. I performed concerts throughout Poland and Germany, most importantly at the Chopin’s Birth Place in Zelazowa Wola, under Chopin’s Monument in Wlazieki Park, The Ostrogski Palace and The Grand Theater in Warsaw. For beginner students, I typically start with rote lessons that teach the basics of the instruments. Then, I move into performing basic, pedagogically-appropriate scales, and begin curriculum in the Rubank Elementary Method books. For more advanced students, I usually have them start with the intermediate or advanced method books, and we learn more advanced major and minor scales, followed by arpeggios and chords (if on piano.) Once I have a grasp on their level and voice type and what sorts of music they are interested in, I will pick out repertoire that will be fun and challenging for the student, and will put into practice the elements of technique we work on in warm ups. After finishing an apprenticeship in carpentry and becoming a certified carpentry journeyman, I worked as a trade showroom carpenter in Berlin and Vienna.
