Music has been my passion from a very early age. I have learned through my years as an educator that sharing this passion with others is just as rewarding as personal experience or success. I greatly enjoy performing as much as I can myself but helping students achieve their own personal musical goals has become one of the most enjoyable experiences of my life. I look forward to meeting new students and learning about their passions and goals so that I can help them find the most rewarding path possible! Read More

Along with the books listed below, I ask that students bring a blank spiral note book in which technique notes as well as exercises customized to the individualized progress of each student are notated as the student progresses. Although I have an extensive personal collection of "drum books" , the books that I like to use for teaching are Teaching Rhythm, Stick Control , Realistic Rock and Advanced Techniques for the Modern Drummer. I facilitate all lessons primarily for the individual student. Beginning with where ever they are starting at. Their individual goals, and how much practice time they have available. I like to make the lessons interesting, educational and enjoyable. Everyone is different and unique. And we all learn at our own pace. There is a creative process to music and I will go over the how and why of a section or an entire arrangement. Read More

My name is Mario and I've been drumming for over 10 years. I love music, and sharing that love through teaching how to play is my passion. My heaviest influences are My Chemical Romance, Sublime, and Led Zeppelin. Which is to say, my range covers a wide range of genres. Though I am new to professionally teaching, I've played at various churches throughout my life. As a musician, I understand the frustration of learning a new instrument. Read More

As I teach a wide variety of instruments, I can only give a short explanation on each instruments road map, However! My classical strings students will all be started in the Essential Elements book 1. Upon completion of said book, all strings students will then move to the Suzuki books to step from beginner to intermediate strings player. Should the student grow bored of said books, I also provide a plethora of outside material to create fun challenges with more familiar music (pop tunes, video game music, easy arrangements of orchestral works, etc.) if the need arise! I love to watch a student progress. It gives me such joy to see them happy. I always evaluate every student and I set for them small and realistic goals. I explain to them that in order to achieve a certain goal you must first obtain the facility by practicing the exercises assigned to them. Sometimes its hard for small children to understand why they are doing a certain exercise so I explain to them and show what the drummer is doing on a certain performance they want to emulate and in order to achieve that, they must go through the exercises assigned.
