Books I use for teaching Piano is the Piano Adventures series of books by Nancy and Randall Faber, which is a great lesson book and a good basic piano method for beginners through intermediate level students. For guitar I use the Hal Leonard Incredible Chord Finder and the Warren Nunes Jazz guitar Rhythm and Background Chords and the Solo Patterns book. The church environment was perfect for teaching, since we had the instruments there and could even had a rehearsal with the whole band when the student had devolped enough skill and knowledge to do so.
