My teaching experience goes back into my senior year in high school. I was a student intern for my school at Avon Elementary School. At first, I took notes and watched the teacher engage the kids in the lesson. But as time progressed on, I began to teach the kids about the different types of notes and percussion. When it came to teaching percussion, I taught them how to play rhythms with sticks. Read More

Hello! I am a highly energetic and passionate music educator from the central Florida area. Over the past 10 years, I have worked with a wide range of instrumental students in and out of the classroom. My primary focus is percussion (contemporary and orchestral), but I am proficient on several other instruments as well. My main goal as an educator is to help students understand the fundamentals of music at a higher level and fine tune their skills on their chosen instrument. Read More

With students learning or continuing education on the piano, like to start with the basics. Once the student begins to have a grasp for that i begin to introduce reading music and theory. I also like to prepare the student to play any genre of music by sheet music or by ear as well. As far drums i also start with the basics, once the learn and grasp that we continue by learning different techniques of playing as well as teaching basic rudiments and how to read music and play drums by ear. My teaching style will be The Bob Ross approach. If the student doesn't feel relaxed, or isn't having fun, then I would have failed as an instructor. I will always remind my students that talent is just passion met with dedication. I will break down the method to the simplest step, then we will repeat that step until that becomes second nature. This will apply to each of the steps, until we go back and add all of the elements together. Read More

This is a two way street. I will always listen to my student as I would expect in return. An open mind is essential in learning new motor skills as well exporting a new creative platform. I work with my students to understand the concept of teaching your mind/body new motor skills and muscle memory. This is much more than just learning an instrument, it is learning an entire system of patterns and lists. Read More
