I live and love music. I love teaching, I think teaching is the most rewarding profession there is. I started my music education in Las Vegas Nevada with a private teacher. I attended UNLV school of music for two years. I moved to Miami Florida where I obtained a full scholarship from MDCC. After finishing college I started teaching drums and percussion to students of a wide range of ages, from five years old to adults. Read More

As I previously mentioned above,I show each student as much as they can pick up.I can show a student just about anything they want to learn, but its really about how much they practice at home that determines their ability. If the student practices a lot we move much quicker and it becomes more fun and challenging.Music is endless and you can never stop learning.they are proving more and more every day how music affects your brain. When you just listen to music, you use every part of your brain.Few things do that. When you play music you are using even more of your brain. The way I approach teaching percussion is starting with an introduction and working through along the way. I usually teach in a way that allows the student to be able to perform freely. At first, I work with them and show them how to play a certain rhythm and then I allow them to play it on their own. I want to make sure that they are actively learning how to play a certain instrument instead of relying on a book. Read More

I started Piano lessons at 6 and quickly received classical training to 12 years old. I have been playing professionally since 14 years old. I have enjoyed a freelance career as a music teacher, composer. performer, recording engineer. producer, and a multi instrumentalist. While being exposed to the intricacies of many styles of music growing up, I have developed a life long passion for studying those different genres. I attended Edward Williams College and Fairleigh Dickenson University where I studied Piano and Guitar, and graduated with an BA Degree in Media Arts. Read More

For students who are young children, I typically start by addressing the importance of playing what you hear. So, I will teach them beginner classics, such as Twinkle Twinkle and Merry had a Littl eLamb, but I also teach them what thunder sounds like, or a siren, and etc. by drawing on everyday life obejects that create noise. I then move on to learn my student's interests to device a method of positive reinforcement if they complete their homework asssignments or answer questions correctly, usually in the past this has been candy.
