I have been teaching for over 10 years. I have experience teaching students of all levels and ages. I have taught for a number of institutions in the New York City metro-area, including The Harmony Program, Tone Academy of Music, Hunter Elementary Music School, MusicWise, Silver Music School, Brooklyn Conservatory and I currently hold a private studio at my home and travel to my students homes. It is extremely important that students not only have fun during lessons, but that they also feel challenged. Every lesson is a small step out of the comfort zone - it may or may not be noticed, but the step is take none-the-less. The lessons I teach are inclusive and may include snippets from other subjects - such as history, science, or math. I'm an acoustic and electric cellist multi-instrumentalist who is passionate about creativity and music as a means to joy! In 2019, I graduated from Temple University with a B.M. in Music Therapy/Cello where I studied both classical and jazz music. I've been playing cello for 13 years in orchestras, quartets, jazz combos, and my personal favorite, rock bands. I love the challenge of teaching young students how to focus and concentrate, and I am always in awe of a child's ability to use creative problem solving. My primary goal with all of my students is to help them make great music that is true to themselves. I also try to stick with a sound-before-symbol approach to learning music. What this means for my teaching is a focus on training both the ears and technique.
