I currently work as a pianist for various Ballet companies and have studied music performance at the Juilliard School and San Francisco Conservatory of music. We will learn and explore the capabilities of the very large instrument by studying literature and repertoire that helped develop the instrument into what it is today. The more we read the more we learn! I will teach you how to read music so easily you will be able to read music at the piano for the first time. Read More

I am a former Suzuki student--I began at age 3.5 with my mom as my teacher--so I believe that Suzuki is an incredible method for teaching young string players. The aural memory I attained by learning this way still continues to benefit me in my career each and every day! I obtained my Suzuki Teacher Certification from the School for Strings, NY, with Pamela Devenport, and am happy to teach the Suzuki method only or in combination with traditional methods. Read More

Much of the frustration students find when it comes to improvement comes from the misunderstanding that something learned in music stays learned. I find it more more accurate to say you train your music skills, rather than learn them. Without the dedication of consistent practice what's learned becomes unlearned. Read More

Moreover, apply what they have learned and perform in front of audiences will help them building confidence. Respectability is also a vital aspect of teaching. A student must be allowed to explore his or her own imagination with the guidance of the teacher. This means a teacher cannot dictate, but a guide. I would never order students to do exactly what I tell them to do. For example, students could come up with their own fingerings, bowings, or musical ideas which enables their critical thinking.
