For beginning students, i'll typically start with Suzuki books. It's important for students to learn the left and right hand separately before putting everything together. Once a student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I'll introduce some simpler solo repertoire appropriate for his or her skill level. For advanced, I'll be happy to talk about more advanced musical techniques and theories. I completed my Master's degree at Tbilisi State Conservatoire under the guidance of Prof. Tamara Gabarashvili (Tchaikovsky competition 5th prize 1966). Since 2004 until 2015 I was a principal cellist of Tbilisi Opera and Ballet State Theater. Since 2004 I am teaching private cello lessons and also working at music schools and pre-school places, and I am also a member of a string quartet "Iberi." I graduated from the Manhattan School of Music with a Bachelor's degree in Classical Cello Performance. I began playing cello in elementary school, and not soon after began participating in Youth Orchestras both in New Jersey and in New York. After attending several music festivals over the summer, I took an interest in music as a career. I want the students to understand how their instrument works by demystifying the mechanics.
