Inspiring new students to develop enthusiasm for music is incredible. I believe that every student learns in a different way and progresses at their own speed. I set attainable goals each week and give students the tools they need to be great even when they are not in the lesson space. By tailoring my lesson to the student's abilities and preferences, students learn to develop their own musical direction and appreciation. Read More

When studying with me, students can expect a comfortable and fun atmosphere that promotes experimentation and positive reinforcement. Employing a curriculum that is equal parts formal technique and informal playing of the students favorite music, I make every lesson engaging and exciting. After 3 to 6 months, beginners should expect to be able to play many of their favorite songs, have a firm grasp on basic scales, chords, theory and sight reading, and can even begin writing their own songs and improvising solos! Applied behavior analysis is key to teaching complex tasks and acquiring fine motor skills to perform the student’s intentions. Reward systems are implemented with social reinforcement and earned graduation plans (free strings, picks, CD’s, books, etc.). I cater to the wishes and dreams of the student, while directing them to meet the requirements to obtain those wishes and dreams. Nothing is forced, compliance is always granted and earned, determined work ethic is displayed throughout. Read More

Of course, everything depends on what you, the student, want to learn! For younger students that are just starting, I've found the Accent on Achievement books to be very helpful in developing the basics of playing. From there, Classically-focused players would learn solo repertoire, Jazz-focused players would learn standards and improvisation, and all the other genres would begin to narrow down their appropriate fields. Adults are certainly welcome as well and I'd love to help them learn whatever they are interested in. Read More

I create my own lesson plans. But I create after having related to my client. How you learn determines the plan. My preference is to teach to the song. I like my clients to pick four to five songs to learn. We need goals, and there is nothing better than being able to play a song you love, and sing it too! I teach beginning guitar and piano as well as bass. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding then passing your love for music on to a student. Each person learns at there own pace and skill level. With each lesson we will set small reachable and realistic goals. These goals will fit in with your larger overall goals. My teaching style is different then others as I'm able to tailor each lesson to fit your needs rather then go through a strict regiment. Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
