I'm big on ear training and hearing where the bass fits in in the context of a song. The student will pick the songs they want to learn and I will show them what the bass is doing and why. For beginniners we will go over all the notes and what notes go into various chord structures. I am very patient and will never rush a student. If somebody is a complete beginner, we'll likely begin by learning about basic elements of music (pitch, rhythm) as well as basics of the instrument (tuning, right hand/left hand placement and technique).
