Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

I'm an experienced instructor with over 8 years of experience. I have a music degree from William Rainey Harper college as well as additional training in Jazz and Choral from Vandercook College of Music in Chicago. I continue to perform in any and all settings possible and have composed many pieces of music that have been showcased in movies, performed at universities, and are used for teaching musical concepts to students. I use the bel canto method when I teach singing: simply put , beautiful vowel-based singing! This goes for all ages. I use standard warm ups such as those based on Estelle Liebling, as well as more non traditional methods such as those in CoreSinging and the Funky n Fun series. Overall I believe voice to be very customizable as a discipline and make sure each student gets what they need at every lesson- whether it's additional help with confidence in their ear if they are newer or more song polishing if they're more advanced or intermediate. The moment when a students finally understands a difficult concept, succeeds at a performance, masters a new technique, or has an amazing breakthrough is why I teach. I love to see the joy in the students faces and see how proud they are when they accomplish the tasks at hand. In my last semester at Butler, I student taught at Avon High School for band and Franklin Township Middle School East for choir. Responsibilities at the former included sole direction of Concert Percussion, intermediate Symphonic Band, and AP Music Theory, and at the latter 7th Grade General Music and 8th Grade Mixed Choir. While at Butler, I was also principal clarinetist of both the Butler Symphony and the Butler Ballet Orchestras, and at one point principal of the Wind Ensemble as well. Read More
