I began teaching 9 years ago while studying classical singing in college. My students have ranged from absolute beginners to intermediate level performers. I have helped students prepare for auditions, performances, and even a sung marriage proposal! It brings me great joy to see a student succeed vocally. My teaching experiences stems back to my undergraduate career at the John J. Cali School of music. I began teaching and tutoring underclassmen in theory, piano and voice while also teaching dance classes in the community. After I graduated I continued teaching and gained an assistantship to continue voice lessons to undergraduate non-majors. I also was the assistant director for our musical theater revue. My teaching style focuses on what most interests the student and draws them to the particular instrument. We explore different song styles and different exercises that speak to each individual student. I also believe in regularly providing constructive criticism and encouragement for each student's accomplishments. The more you inspire your student, the more driven they become. My teen and adult students normally work out of and Adult All in One series. For more advanced piano students Ill work repertoire, theory and scales/technique as needed/desired by the student.
