My way of working with a student is completely personalized. Each person is a unique and independent universe. After determining what motivates the student to learn an instrument and also knowing their profile and their relationship with music prior to this, I develop a daily, weekly and monthly plan with the same student, I establish the level of commitment that the student Is going to put in the training and project, along with him, some goal or objective attainable according to his commitment. Perfection is not important to me. What is important is that my students strive and become the best that they can be. I want to instill in them the desire to reach their goals. That being said, I believe every student will work at their own pace. We will work together on goals that are realistic during the time frame. I will ask the student what his/her goals are and I will use my set of skills to work towards those goals through repertoire, vocal exercises, and an understanding of the voice. Read More

As a kinesthetic learner, I have always had a tendency of using colors, rhymes, similarities, acronyms among other things to ease my learning ability of which I have found myself using a similar method when explaining a concept to one of my students. Setting short and long term goals allow for me and the student to be enthusiastic to learn and eager to step into our next lesson. I have my students start with sufficient stretching to get the body ready for singing. Following that, I warm up their voices with different scales and specific singing exercises, which I will use independently with students in different levels. Afterwards, we work on the music. I usually pick the music for my students. However, if there is a piece of music that my student particularly wants to learn, I am willing to compromise as long as it is suitable for his/her voice.
