Once the student has developed and progressed over certain aspects I will introduce repertoire that will be learned and performed at the end. I like to get an idea from the student and the parent what their expectations are for music lessons. From there, the student and I come up with musical goals to accomplish for that year. We create a practice schedule based on the student's school and extracurricular activities and try to follow that schedule as much as possible. I also like to incorporate other styles of music such as popular Broadway pieces and Contemporary pieces into the student's repertoire so that they can have greater diversity in their piano playing or singing. In my piano lesson, I teach my student theory, sight-reading, aural skill, playing scales, and playing pieces from different time periods. Student will excel in piano study provided they practice consistently with the right attitude and mindset.
