When I teach, I dont force a certain technique or method on students, but rather I teach what is best suited for them. On top of that, I always motivate my students with adequate goals. I have always believed that music is a conversation between the musician and the audience, and the instrument is the interpreter. With this in mind, with any age, I start with a regular conversation. Knowing the passion, interest level, and motivation of the students helps me create a method of teaching that is specific to the individual. I also learn their experience and knowledge level. I continued to study classical violin until about 16, when I became highly involved in choir and theater. I was selected for the Texas All State Mixed Chorus three years in a row. I also sang professionally for St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Houston for three years. At about this time I also began teaching myself piano, and have continued my growth on the instrument to this day. I attended the University of Houston initially as a Vocal performance major with a music scholarship but had become burnt out from the rigors of professional classical music training and performance.
