Instruments: Piano Voice Flute Piccolo
My teaching experience began in college when I worked as a student volunteer in the Kean University Chamber Music ensemble. I worked with the vocalists in sectionals as well as one adult beginner flute player who I am good friends with. I later became the student assistant for that same ensemble my last semester in undergraduate as I continued to give critique and work with the flute student who was just starting, on the flute fundamentals such as sound, breathing, scales and long tones. For all students we will work on breathing technique, vocal technique and applying those aspects into songs that they love to sing. If a student picks out a song that doesn't suit him/her, I will help them find the right song for them - building them a diverse repertoire that they can sing any time and any where, without any struggle. Each individual student has their own character and environment, so I respect that and I can work with all different types of people and it has been successful. I encourage my students to find their own inspiration to meet their goal and to progress their work, and I can develop to build their progress by trying multiple ways to achieve their own success. Also, individual student has different phase of their progression, so it takes long time with step by step to accomplish during the learning process, but I am patience and happy to encourage students to until they can make it. The first six months are the hardest! That is the time when you are building up the muscles that are going to be the fundamentals for later on in your career. Although it might seem to the student that they don't see any change, it's happening more than they think! I continuously push my students to stay positive and not to give up within the first six months. Teaching students who really want to learn and who push themselves at home is one of the most rewarding experiences when they finally make it through that first barrier. Read More

For those students (both children and adults) who are just beginning lessons, we will focus on the development of basic technique. This is centered around breathing, posture, and basic musicianship. We will spend time working on basic notes, rhythms, and ear-training in addition to vocalizing and learning songs to help develop and reinforce what we learn in our exercises. For those with a bit of experience I like to spend our first lesson getting acquainted and determining what your goals are for our lessons. Read More
Instruments: Voice Music
I have been giving private voice lessons informally to my friends and family for over 5 years. In addition to those voice lessons, I was also president of my college a cappella group, in which I would get the opportunity to fill in for our music director and run rehearsals. While I majored in performance, I have always had a passion for teaching and am planning on getting my masters in music education in the future. Read More
