My style is very relaxed and fun and I make the lessons very student focused. I do not believe in a 'monkey see monkey do' style where I simply show the student and have them repeat the concept or technique, but rather a discovery learning approach where I provide the needed support for the student to learn and apply the concepts. I began began my musical career as an elementary school student selecting the flute as my primary instrument. I dedicated over four hours a day to practice and skill development. My time in high school led me to perform in several high profile venues which include: Orlando Theme Parks, halftime shows with Ronnie Millsap, and The Georgia Mass Choir. For all students, I begin with classical fundamentals such as body alignment, breath support, and resonance and moving to topics including diction, vocal health, interpretation, and stage presence. I will work with the student to find repertoire that will best fit their voice, help achieve their musical goals, and be aligned with what they enjoy musically. My experience in both music education and special education gives me the insight into adapting lesson material to the individual student, as no two students are alike in their learning styles! I work with the needs and goals of the individual student, and incorporates a wide variety of teaching styles into my lessons. For my younger piano students, I use the Bastien piano series, and I like to use the Alfred Adult Beginner series for my beginning students that are late middle school and older. Read More

Most repertoire will be taken from early italian songs, art song, folk songs, or musical theatre. The students will have a strong influence on what pieces he or she sings. For intermediate students I want to really forcus on text painting and understanding the words. Also we will continue building on basic skills learned as a beginning student.
