I am a passionate and fun instructor who loves to work with students and share the power of storytelling through song. In 2018, I graduated from Oklahoma City University with a double Bachelor of Music degree in Music Theatre and Vocal Performance. While pursuing music at OCU, I was given several opportunities including singing with Broadway star Kelli O'Hara, workshopping with Hamilton star Sasha Hutchings and working with various artists from the Broadway shows Mean Girls, Spongebob, and Carousel. I believe that everyone of all ages can benefit from music lessons. Learning an instrument relieves stress and promotes optimal health. I believe that we are all creative being and music is a creative outlet. Researchers have found the acedemic potential of the student is increased by taking lessons for several years. I love helping others finding their own personal voice and helping them to get on their feet as an artist. Read More

My methods are the ones that works more for the student. For some reason some methods work better with certain people. One method can be tedious for a student and easy and fun for another. Hal Leonard's can be a good tool. I can use to many different books. Also I can write down specific exercises special for the student. Some times a student can learn faster without a book. Read More

I also have great expertise working with retired active senior citizens. I headed up the gerontology arts division for Orange Coast College/Coastline College and taught music/acting at active senior sites for over 14 years. Many of my current students are retired seniors. I have written several text books on jazz theory, jazz piano, jazz vocal and musicology subjects that are used by schools and universities. As a professor of University of West London: London College of Music (US rep), I am able to offer internationally accredited music performance grades (1-8) for piano (classical, jazz pop), digital keyboard (pop, music industry), voice (musical theatre, opera/classical, pop, rock, jazz). I always begin by figuring out how I can best teach a student by asking them their interests and goals for singing; whether they want to sing jazz or provide vocals for their rock band, or learn to sing classically, etc. For all students who are atleast in their teens or older, I begin by describing how singing works and talk about the function of the body in singing. I usually use pictures from anatomy books to help point out the key organs and muscle groups that are engaged in healthy singing, so as to give a visual aid of what we are working to condition for singing. My teaching experience dates back to my college days teaching private lessons both in my home studio and students' homes, and have been consistently teaching students in their homes for the last 13 years.  Encouraging younger students to have a consistent schedule for a regular practice will help the students progress and gain a passion for the instrument.  Combining classical and modern music help students enjoy the piano and motivate them to practice and continue to learn. Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
