I'm a energetic, thought-provoking, and creative voice/piano teacher who loves working with students of all ages and loves to help them grow and develop their technique. Just shy of last year, 2015, I graduated from LIU Post University with a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education K-12 graduating Magna Cum Laude with a 3.8 average. Whenever I give a student a critique, I always begin by saying something positive they did. Then I explain the critique and how they can improve the next time. I want my students to feel like they have accomplished something, while knowing that there is always room for improvement. Positive reinforcement always keep the students motivated. I have been the Organist and Choir director of two churches and I have been fortunate to sing and work under the direction of Leonard Bernstein, Eugene Ormandy, and many other great conductors. I use my own materials and lesson plans based on my past experiences and education. For beginners, I will generally start with simple songs like Sweet Home Alabama, I Love Rock n Roll, and Heathens. These are all songs that can be played and sung simply and most students have heard them already! I have always been a musician first and everything else second. I have found fulfillment in sharing music with others as a teacher, performer and music therapist. I graduated in May with my master's in voice from the Eastman School of Music. I hold bachelor's degrees and certifications in music education and music therapy.
