I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. I am currently pursuing my degree in music education with a concentration in voice at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. My instruments include classical voice, which I have been studying for 6 years, and classical piano, which I have been studying for 10 plus years. I've also had the opportunity to perform in various concert halls and ensembles around the world, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Beijing Watercube Olympic Stadium, and many churches throughout Germany, which has contributed to my experiences as both a performer and as an educator. While I am happy to help set some basic goals and will assign work to do outside of our lessons, I believe that long term goals are our own. I am a vocal teacher, that means I am focusing on vocal technique more, but I also can perform vocal coaching when needed. These two are different roles. A vocal teacher works with technical aspect of singing - muscles, sound production, breathing, control of your sound etc. Your vocal coach works with intonation, style, musical and acting part of your singing. I find that a mix of classic technique with something more modern such as pop, rock or jazz can ignite the inspiration to actually want to learn more of the complex yet essential aspects of music. My students are encouraged to compose their own music as well as collaborate with other students to create and share their work.
