I like to work with students individually for their own goals and skill level. For younger students, we work on msuciality and basics of singing through devleopmentally appropriate (and fun!) songs. Regardless of the student's level, each lesson contains singing repertoire, vocal exercises to work on technique, and musicianship skills. The combination of these elements will depend entirely on the student's needs and desires! I begin assessing where the student's current level is by having them sing a song of their choice for me. Depending on what we need to work, I will spend the lessons focusing on certain areas to improve (e.g. breath support, jaw/neck tension, posture, pitch, range, diction, phrasing, etc.). I make sure the music is appropiate for the age and level of each student. I hold a Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance from the Eastman School of Music, and a Masters of Music in Vocal Performance (Musical Theatre Concentration) with an Advanced Certificate in Vocal Pedagogy from New York University.
