Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. An interesting fact about my particular vocal journey is that because I had never really had formal voice training, I was learning vocal concepts from a scientific and theoretical perspective in the classroom while concurrently learning them in my own body and voice in my own lessons. I believe in encouragement and positive reinforcement, I will never discourage a student to study music. Music is for everyone and should never be considered out of reach for anyone.
