Jason is an acclaimed professional guitarist, singer and songwriter who also teaches privately in Nassau County, Long Island, NY. The way I've always approached music and teaching is with a sense of humilty and thanks. It is a true joy to be able to pass on the knowledge and lessons I've learned throughout my experience to those who are excited and passionate. To communicate the artistry of great songwriters, composers and performers, past and present, is both a privilege and a challenge. With that in mind, I set realistic goals for my students by teaching basic fundamental techniques and applying them to repertoire that is fun, recognizable, expressive and practical. Read More

I always find out what the student likes and use that material as a format for developing good playing techniques and understanding, For beginners it's important to get it right from the start so playing and enjoyment can develop naturally. By immediately choosing songs they love the inspiration and motivation to practice will grow along with there playing. For intermediate students we balance repertoire and practice of the essentials such as scales, arpeggios, chord scales, triads 7th chords , melodies and progressions. Read More

It has always been my joy when I see my students later on perform music that they love. Thus, I as a music teacher, would be more than willing to help my students sing and make music at their own level and eventually climbs up the musical ladder. To do this, setting standards and specific and realistic objectives are a must. During the process, regular assessments are done so that students know their accomplishments and feel more comfortable making music. Read More

In the past, I have taught a couple of students who were beginners. One student was not American, and I had to teach her proper English pronunciation, while teaching her vocal technique. She was a hard worker, and came prepared the next week. Therefore, I could work at a faster level with her, then could I with another student who was progressing more slowly. If I can make a difference by teaching, in vocal technique, but also in the love of music, having fun, and finding and tapping into the creative part of my students, then I did my job. Read More

The way I learned is the way I teach. I was taught the same way multiple ways and because of this I can give students different avenues to learn the same thing. So if they don't understand it in A, or B, I still have C, and D as a back up. I try to include the student to help navigate their own lesson plan and figure out what they want to focus on. Read More
