I am a passionate and fun instructor who loves to work with students and share the power of storytelling through song. In 2018, I graduated from Oklahoma City University with a double Bachelor of Music degree in Music Theatre and Vocal Performance. While pursuing music at OCU, I was given several opportunities including singing with Broadway star Kelli O'Hara, workshopping with Hamilton star Sasha Hutchings and working with various artists from the Broadway shows Mean Girls, Spongebob, and Carousel. I am here to be an encouraging pal. I want to celebrate a students progress and victories too, so we will set goals both immediate and big picture, and work our way toward them. I am friendly and encouraging, and here to remind students that when they practice and focus, small steps turn into huge results! I gently push my students to be better, all the while singing their praises. Read More

My 5 years of teaching experience, and 20+ years of performing experience has helped me gain a storehouse of helpful knowledge, wisdom and methods. Having worked with all voice types, I have learned that each voice is unique and should be treated as such. I have always allowed my students to work at their own pace, but I have also learned when it is more beneficial to help push my students. As a performer, I have been commended for my artistry. My journey in the world of music has been incredibly fulfilling, especially when it comes to teaching. Over the years, I've had the privilege of sharing my knowledge and passion for music with eager learners of all ages and backgrounds. Teaching music has been a transformative experience for me. There's a unique joy that comes from watching a student's eyes light up when they grasp a challenging concept or successfully play a piece they've been working on. Read More

My teaching style is well rounded approach. I teach not only music performance which includes technique, memorization, practice techniques, body mechanics and health, and memorization but also theory, ear training, music history, performance and music business. All my students have opportunity to perform, learn how to audition for local musical theatre productions, how to record and how to prepare for careers in the arts (if they choose). Many of my students are composers/songwriters, produce albums, perform with local companies, Disney performers or are actors in theatre, television and motion picture. Read More

For students earlier in their journeys, I do believe a practical understanding of music and basic theory is fundamental to unlock both the art and the science of performing. After warm up exercises that help acquire the vocabulary and sonic principles of agile musicianship, I would immediately dive into material that the student finds engaging and personal! I am an advocate for storytelling in the arts first, with mechanical technique and instruction used as vehicles to empower the pure love of expression! Read More

My approach to teaching is to meet the students where they are. I often ask them to write a list of their 'top ten favourite songs' and also encourage them to listen to music. I want to know what moves them and inspires them, so I can adapt my instruction to their needs. I encourage consistency in practising above quantity (hours spent), as a little bit every day goes a long way. Read More
