My goal is to give my students the ability to self assess. They should be able to feel when they are singing correctly, without me always pointing it out. They learn these skills through scales, basic anatomy and physiology, physical exercises, visualization etc. I am kind, patient, supportive, and always do my best to uplift my students. Through my college experience, I have had the opportunity to sing all over the world. I began teaching music in high school, a friend coworker had a son that wanted to learn trumpet and it was a fun way to make money. As I continued into college, I learned that I was able to give lessons to members of the band or choir as an employee to the Adrian College Academic Services Department and I was happy to do so. In addition to Adrian College students, I also gave lessons to local high schoolers (mostly tuba players) and many where featured and scored well in state Solo and Ensemble exhibitions. Read More

I have been teaching since 1998. I love making music fun for my students, while requiring students to learn fundamentals such as music theory and vocal health. Teaching has been part of my life for over 17 years and I hope to continue for at least that many more. I believe music is for everybody and that each individual can improve and learn if they care and make an honest effort. There is nothing more rewarding then to see a student achieve and accomplish a goal. I believe and always positively affirming and acknowledging there accomplishments. Positive reinforcement and encouragement always assist the student to strive and succeed. I always give my student the choice to decide between multiple pieces, but I always choose pieces with a new technique or concept, so the student is consistently learning. His most recent operatic stage performances have included: Bartolo (Barber of Seville), Marcello (La Boheme), Silvio (Pagliacci), Le Philosophe (Cherubin), Figaro (Le Nozze di Figaro), Danilo (Merry Widow), Don Giovanni (Don Giovanni), Dulcamara (L‘Elisir D’amore), Sharpless (Madame Butterfly), Baron Duphol (La Traviata), Count Almaviva (Le Nozze di Figaro), and Musicklehler & Harlekin(Ariadne auf Naxos) Jinho is also in demand as a choral conductor and soloist.
