My teaching experience dates back to 2013, where I first began tutoring local junior high students for the summer band program. I have been teaching private lessons and studying how to be a better educator ever since. My private home studio has been running for over 3 years now. In private lessons I incorporate a complex combination of music theory, ear training, popular music, and classical! For each instrument, I have the same basic approach: discover what they like, assess what they can do, and begin with the fundamentals.  If a student is more advanced, I still like to spend time on fundamentals at the beginning anyway to see if we can fill in any foundational weakness that the student may have.   For each instrument, I also have a wide array of repitoire that I give students that zero-in on technical challenges a student will be presented with. Cassidy has also been very involved in the West Michigan music business scene. She has promoted local musicians by designing posters, creating electronic press kits and booking shows with Michigan venues. Cassidy also founded 1202 Sessions, a promotional media service for musicians. Through 1202 Sessions, Cassidy has partnered with Carbon Stories, a media agency, to promote many local musicians by directing music videos, hosting concerts at Art Prize and putting on album release parties.
