For beginning students I always begin with a methods book, I believe that good fundamentals are what makes a good musician, but I also teach ear training methods thereby giving the student the best in both worlds. Once the fundamentals and foundation are efficient, then according to the instrument I move to solo repertoire or experimentation or interpretation. I began my work as Music Director at Old St. Patrick's Church, part of the Diocese of Lansing. During my time there, I was able to develop a relevant choral program based on the characteristics and aesthetics of the parish. The choir grew, and I improved the vocal and musical skills of all its members, which allowed us to effectively support all liturgies. We performed several concerts focused on traditional sacred music, including a grand farewell concert at Sweet Heart of Mary Church in Detroit in June of 2022. Read More

I am a musician who is passionate about sharing my love of music with my students. Throughout my six years of teaching, I have worked with students of all ages and abilities. I attended Western Michigan University for Music Therapy with piano as my primary instrument. Through applied lessons with distinguished faculty, I further developed my musicianship and teaching skills through performance and application. For beginning students, I like to begin with the importance of posture, vocal health, and breathing techniques. Building these early foundations to then hone and have for future instruction is extremely valuable to maintaining a healthy singing style. Once students are comfortable with these skills, we can begin really looking into the music. Based on student's skill levels, pieces will be suggested/given to students.
