I have been singing ever since I was 5 years old and chose to continue singing professionally once I entered college and continue to do so post college. Singing: Bel Canto. I use the Vaccai exercise books for more intermediate singers. This helps to open up the throat by singing on Italian vowels. For repetoire I will use the Easy Song books for beginners, First Book of Songs for Intermediate and for more advanced students we pick out repertoire for specific voice types. Helping someone learn how to open up their voice and sing is a joyful experience. Every lesson includes a warm-up for the voice and a series of breathing and vocal exercises. that build skills and technique. The time spent on each part of the lesson varies from student to student to help them make progress. I've been teaching since I began high school when I started giving private lessons to my fellow orchestra members. Ever since I have constantly taught from my home and through various music studios. I discovered my love for teaching in High School when my fellow students would always come to me for music help or coaching. In college I took our Vocal Pedegogy class and it was the perfect fit. I was so interested in the subject I asked my professors for more and we started the Coker College Community Program together.
