I do not provide a strict curriculum. Instead, I form lessons based on student's needs as I feel this is more effective and more personalized. Things that we may explore include; warm-ups, posture, breathing techniques, tongue twisters, learning to read notation, and rhythm. My methodology is based on the student's goals and desires. For guitar, I prefer to start with an understanding of the strings and notes rather than jumping straight into chords. That way the student has an understanding of the building blocks first. From there we can progress to timing, chords, strumming patterns, and so on, depending on the ability of the student. For voice, my teaching is based off of a combination of many methods I've learned over the years, from Speech Level Singing, to Classical/Bel Canto, to Ken Tamplin/Phil Moufarrege style teaching. My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 4 years ago, and have been consistently teaching to students of all different ages. For each instrument, I have the same basic approach: discover what they like, assess what they can do, and begin with the fundamentals.  If a student is more advanced, I still like to spend time on fundamentals at the beginning anyway to see if we can fill in any foundational weakness that the student may have.   For each instrument, I also have a wide array of repitoire that I give students that zero-in on technical challenges a student will be presented with.
