My mission is to help each student create a healthy sound rooted in the body, which, coupled with a solid breathing technique, creates an easy, effortless and dynamic tone. From the very first lesson, I teach a fudamental warm-up that addresses the physical, breathing and vocal, and which the student can use for the rest of their singing career. Once that's in place, I spend the remaining time tailoring the lesson itself to the individual student's needs; this may be focusing on breathing one day, while focusing on resonating the next. After finishing an apprenticeship in carpentry and becoming a certified carpentry journeyman, I worked as a trade showroom carpenter in Berlin and Vienna. For my mandatory conscription in Austria, I served as an ambulance paramedic. I obtained a bachelor's and a master's in music and dance performance and education at leading universities in Salzburg and Barcelona. From 2008 to 2011, I worked for the University Mozarteum Salzburg, producing, light-engineering, shooting and editing final performances of graduating students using professional studio camera equipment and software. I am at home in many venues, whether it is the concert hall, the intimate setting of the recital platform, or on the operatic stage. I have performed over one hundred different roles at the Metropolitan Opera and am heard often on the "Live from the Met" Sirius Saturday afternoon radio broadcasts, as well as televised performances from the stage of the opera house. I teach vocal technique to students of all ages and genres. For beginner students I work on each of their registers (chest voice, head voice, mix and flageolet) emphasising range and flexibility to begin with and then adding strength work as we progress.
