My love for teaching has grown over the years out of the success I see my students achieve. Being able to guide a student towards vocal growth is the most rewarding part of what I do. I love seeing the "lightbulb" go off for them. I have taken voice lessons for 14 years, and know how it feels to be frustrated vocally but also thriving vocally. My practice is an evidenced-based one. I chose exercises that are specifically tailored to a certain vocal idea or skill that we are working on. From there, we modify the exercise to meet the needs of the student's unique body and other student specific needs (i.e. previous habits, personality type, etc.). I have been discovering my love for teaching for the last 5 years. I started within my undergrad school. I graduated from Western Carolina University in May 2015 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance (Classical) as well as a minor in Psychology. I was able to perform my first professional show with Asheville Lyric opera as a chorister in La Traviata in 2012. I learned early on that my ability to play by memory and through ear afforded me a stark intuitive advantage over peers my own age; naturally, they came to me during our shared lessons to inquire about my talent.
