I believe that it is very important for any singer to have a music theory background, so I make sure to include in any of my vocal lessons basic keyboard knowledge. Further, I have found that it is important to incorporate all types of music in lessons. Learning all sorts of style in music is crucial to continue growing as a performer. Finally, it is important for a student to enjoy their lessons and find passion in their own music. Read More

I began teaching music in 2006 while still in college, and I have worked at a variety of different music schools and teaching companies, most notably at the University of Southern California. I taught and maintained a small voice studio of my own in New York City for four years before the pandemic forced me back to the west coast to care for my family. I typically work with a wide variety of students with different ages and backgrounds, and I pride myself on offering a holistic and trauma informed approach to the study of voice and singing. I have been working in the music industry and teaching for over six years. I have lived in London, New York City, and Los Angeles, and have worked in each city, leading my experience to be unique and easily adaptable. I have found a lot of success with students when I am consistently encouraging them to perform in front of Pias and family. This is how I became a music, professional, and hope to get my students there also. Read More

It's very important for me to see my students progress without tension and learn to sing with ease and build breath support and ear training over time. Vocal health and improving vocal quality across a singer's range is also of utmost importance. I tailor lessons according to the singer's level of proficiency and the complexity of the material or repertoire covered. Whether the goal is to prepare for an audition or simply improve your singing voice, we then tackle the fun part of performance, where I guide students in bringing the story of the character and song to life. For beginning piano students, I use the method books from Faber's Piano Adventures series. If the student gets bored with one method book, I will mostly likely top it off with something else from Alfred. I stress mostly on counting proper rhythm, learning alphabets, and finger numbers for early age groups. For intermediate students, I would expect students toalreadybe able to read music aside from the rhythm challenges. I will move on from where the student last left off from his/her former piano/voice teacher. Read More
