PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE My teaching experience started in 2007 with teaching young kids from our youth meeting in church. Now I am teaching in my home studio in Belleville, NJ since 2016. With more than 10 years experience, I love working with new students of all ages. I use a curriculum developed by Mrs, Irina Gorin which specialize in kids from 4-6 years. Her method is based on involving both the students and the parents in the piano learning experience. Read More

I like to work with students individually for their own goals and skill level. For younger students, we work on msuciality and basics of singing through devleopmentally appropriate (and fun!) songs. Regardless of the student's level, each lesson contains singing repertoire, vocal exercises to work on technique, and musicianship skills. The combination of these elements will depend entirely on the student's needs and desires! At the consultation lesson, I will provide a written assessment of where I see the student progressing and propose a plan to reach the students stated goals, focusing always on the process of individual development. My teaching style is both rigorous and positive. I believe that the best way to learn any skill is through hard work and persistence in a judgement-free, positive psychological environment. I work in a routine every lesson so that students understand the next step in the process. I make accommodations for each student depending on their personal goals, needs, and learning styles. No two students are the same, so no two lessons should be the same. Read More

Voice: I focus on strengthening vocal consistency with healthy vocal practices. I also want to strengthen the musicianship of singers by developing initial sight-reading and other aural skills. A lesson typically would consist of a third of vocalizing/warmups, and two-thirds of working on one to two songs to train the voice and build repertoire material. With zoom, i can act as the accompanist or we can find a solution with tracks depending on the scenario. Read More

Because every student has his/her own learning style, my lessons cater to those styles. I figure out a student's strengths and weaknesses. I acknowledge the accomplishments caused by the strengths while I focus on developing the weaknesses. For example, if a student excels melodically but has trouble maintaining accurate rhythm, I will engage the student in listening to and playing many interesting melodies that require him/her to pay close attention to counting the rhythms in order to master playing the melodies. I would begin each lesson with a vocal warmup so that I can see where their tone is placed and if they are an alto/soprano/tenor/etc. I would ask what genres they are interested in or what types of music they like. If they have a song they'd want to learn, we would practice that song and work on technique so that they can perform it in a healthy and confident way. Read More
