The classes are planned based on the individual's voice range. In general, classes begin with breathing techniques, followed by vocal warm-ups. Students at a beginner level will learn German lieder or Italian songs from the "24 Italian Songs and Arias" from the Schirmer's Publishing. My background is in opera and musical theatre, but I have been playing piano for twenty-six years and also teach ukulele and flute. Ive been teaching consistently for 10 years now. I taught all ages, from kindergarten kids to people over 60, kids with special needs, one on one classes, ensembles, full classrooms, and high school. If there's one thing that I learned throughout my career is that very student has a unique voice, so every voice needs to be approached in a unique way. Contemporary music is so diverse, I like to work with songs and styles that the student likes, but also to challenge them to explore outside of their comfort zone. Read More
