I accompany my students on the piano and encourage them to perform at recitals if they feel up for it. My teaching goal is to encourage my students to be lifelong patrons of the arts.  I understand that every student may not be interested in a career in music.  I encourage students to set goals and work toward them.  These goals may include a scholarship audition, playing a piece in front of a family member, or booking their first professional "gig." My main goal is to provide inspiration and inspire a student ( no matter what the starting place) to pick a 'first goal." For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonards Essential Elements book, as well a basic understanding of music. Once the student has progressed to have a nice grasp of the fundamentals of music, I usually begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. In 2018, I graduated from New York University with a Masters of Music in Composition for Film and Visual Media. My projects include film scores, chamber and large ensemble compositions, musical theatre songwriting, choral music, and electroacoustic and intermedia projects. As a working composer, I have been given the opportunity to score short films that have entered the festival circuit, collaborating with directors internationally.
