Instruments: Piano Voice Recorder Oboe Music Keyboard
I began teaching while I was in college to young band students who had never before picked up an instrument, whether it was the keyboard or the oboe. This required teaching not only the technique of the instrument but also foundational musicianship. I also worked consistently with other college-aged students while they completed their piano skills courses, as well as the younger oboists in their technique courses and reed making classes. Nothing is more rewarding than guiding students to develop their own style while having fun exploring new territories! To get there, I usually start off with a song out of the students' favorite genre or pieces the students bring. Knowing your wants and needs, I'll tailor the next steps and exercises to get you to your individual sound - encouraging you to get ready for stage! Read More

I was awarded as Best Musical Actress by HOLA 2020 in the production of El Barbero de Sevilla with New Camerata Opera in the role of Elena. At Opera Tampa I had my debut singing the title role in Maestro Anton Coppola's Lady Swanwhite, a world premiere. Read More

I began teaching 5 years ago. I started teaching classical Indian music and expanded into teaching vocal technique in various genres from Bollywood to western classical. My focus is to make sure your voice is functioning to the best of its ability in students of all ages in any genre. I like to facilitate a friendly, warm and encouraging environment where the student feels free to make mistakes and try new and different sounds thereby finding their unique voice. Read More

I feel that while it is important that students make progress, every student must move at his or her own pace. I like to set goals for students in terms of technical growth and potential repertoire, and believe in acknowledging the improvements a student makes, whether over time or in the moment. Though it is wonderful to see a student gradually understand a concept, there is nothing more exciting for a teacher than seeing a student have an "Aha!" moment. Read More

I have been teaching piano and voice students for the past 7 years and have really come to enjoy the experience more and more. Encouring regular practice is definitely key, as well as giving the students a chance to work on pieces they are interested in. This tends to, in my experience, make them even more interested and motivated to practice and hone their craft. I am looking forward to bringing on new students! Read More

I began teaching 9 years ago while studying classical singing in college. My students have ranged from absolute beginners to intermediate level performers. I have helped students prepare for auditions, performances, and even a sung marriage proposal! It brings me great joy to see a student succeed vocally. I love giving them the tools to be able to discover their unique voice to their best ability. While I first began my training in opera, I do not require my students to sing opera arias. Read More
