For beginning students, I introduce musical theatre and classical repertoire and the fundamentals of music theory. As the student progresses, I include advanced exercises used to strengthen the voice and have them learn various styles of singing based on their interests and career path. Students are expected to vocalize every day on their own and complete any homework or songs before assigned dates. For students interested, I will also enter them into competitions and auditions where they can expand their performance experience. Read More

Active Participation: I prioritize active participation during lessons. Rather than passive instruction, I engage students through interactive exercises, discussions, and collaborative activities. This keeps them engaged, encourages critical thinking, and facilitates a deeper grasp of concepts. Progressive Challenges: I believe in challenging students progressively. Each lesson builds upon the previous one, introducing new concepts and techniques while reinforcing what has been learned. This gradual approach ensures that students are continually challenged while still feeling supported. Read More

With that in mind, I like to use both repertoire that a student has brought in, and repertoire that I choose very carefully to suit a particular student's strengths and challenges. Read More
