My lessons are pretty straight forward. We begin with understanding body posture and alignment for singing. Once in good posture, I encourage breath flow while maintaining good alignment. A good exercise for breath control and release is taking a deep breath in 10 seconds, holding the expansion or suspension for 10 seconds and then releasing (NOT PUSHING) the breath in an s sound, all while maintaining a tall and expanded posture. Next, we move on to scales from the middle of the voice to the lowest notes to get the voice warmed up. Read More

I have worked professionally with children in every age group including age 2, and adults of elderly age. I also have worked with those with ADHD, post stroke, type 1 diabetes ect so I am very comfortable and sympathetic to adjustments whenever necessary. I'm a yoga instructor, and have a very easy going vibe, though I am surprisingly organized and believe in always finding creative techniques to surpass our goals sooner than thought possible. I like to approach vocal lessons from a technical and holistic standpoint. A typical lesson for me usually begins with whatever warm-ups and exercises I feel fit our goals, and a check in to see how you're doing and if there is anything in particular you want to focus on improving. I have a lot of really effective exercises that'll get your voice where you need it to go! I work a lot with placement and support in my singing lessons, and I use a lot of visualization techniques to get you in the right placement. Read More

Finding out what inspires the student helps me to construct my instruction to their needs. It is important to understand that each student has their own progression. I make sure to always set realistic goals for my students at each lesson and to acknowledge their accomplishments. This often encourages and excites the student to continue in their progression! I keep it light and I make sure that the student enjoys my lessons and look forward to the next one. Read More
