I first started giving lessons my junior year in college and have continued to teach ever since. I am also currently the music director for the Yorba Linda United Methodist Church in Yorba Linda California. My responsibilities there include: Arranging and directing music for both services and outreach/charitable activities, and providing one-on-one instruction for player/vocalist development. Read More

I have an interactive yet focused style of teaching. I can(but don't recommend) to use the Suzuki method. I feel that all aspects related to the instruments weigh much importance in teaching the student. However, with the Suzuki method, the student's primary focus is to learn pieces rapidly and climb the level of difficulty as fast as possible. This prevents him/her to fully understand and analyze the piece and lesson and it can also turn the student away from pursuing the instrument further. Read More

I aim to nurture well-rounded musicians who not only excel in playing an instrument but also appreciate the broader aspects of music, such as theory, history, and creativity. Read More

I love helping students learn new skills as well as introducing them to new music in order to help them cultivate their personal style and artistic voice. When I was first learning guitar, I was frustrated about not knowing how to take the ideas in my head and convey them through my guitar. Read More
