I have been teaching private voice since 1991.  Along with teaching privately out of my home, over the years I have served on faculty as an adjunct voice professor at the college and university level, and have taught private voice in school districts for their junior high and high school choirs.  My own children study with me and are performing regularly in musical theater productions and choirs.  I love helping singers discover their beautiful, God-given singing voice and watching it blossom as they consistently practice and apply the techniques. I believe that teaching voice does not involve a one-size-fits-all method. Every one is different, and therefore every voice is unique. It's important to treat each voice individually. A positive teaching environment is vital to encourage a student's progress. Lessons should also be fun. If the student is not having fun then something is not right. I create custom lesson plans for each student, for unlike the trombone or the cello, everyone's voice is considerably different. I will first hear the students goals, and where they want to go, or what they want to do. Then, I will assess where they are at, and then customize lesson plans to take them from where they are to where they want to go. I will do this by giving them different songs to learn. Read More

I moved to the Berkshire Mountains of Western Massachusetts in early 2015 and relocated back to Dallas/Ft. Worth in late 2017.
