My personal teaching experience began while studying in Phladelphia at teh Unviersity of the Arts. As I started my 5 year Music Education minor/clearence program, I started to adapt what I was learning and develop my own style and flow of teaching. I began tutoring my friends and fellow classmates after school in the music library on campus, teaching them compex jazz theory, ProTools/Logic DAW shortcuts and processes, piano accompaniment, intervals, inversions,  rhythmic dictation, bascally reinforcing what we learned earlier in the class. I strive to create a safe space for my students where they can dive into their material and feel empowered through learning and practicing. Some weeks a piano student might complete the material rapidly and some weeks, they may want to go slower, taking their time, therefore they excel at their own comfort level and don't feel as though there is a race. From a family of musicians, I started playing the cello at the age of 5. After being a cellist for the Conservatory of Quebec Orchestra in Saguenay, I switched to percussion. I recorded the Flight of the Bumble Bee for the first time at age 14 and became a symphonic percussionist later with the National Art Center Orchestra of Canada as well as for the Ottawa Symphony while playing for the Starlighters and Savoy Swing Band at the Penguin cafe in Ottawa.
