My methods used for piano students are the Randall and Nancy Faber teaching books; they are among the very best teaching materials due to their ease of comprehension, their logical sequence of concepts taught, and also their practical exercises and songs for the student. My methods used for Band instruments (trumpet, clarinet, flute, drums, and trombone), are the Standard of Excellence books, as they are also among the very best in regards to explaining musical concepts, presenting new songs, and logical progression. My most recent teaching experience occurred while I was working on my Masters at Binghamton University. There, I had my own voice studio, comprised of top performing vocal students, as well a course open to any level of singers, which introduced them to a healthy singing technique. Prior to that, I had a privately run voice studio where I taught students both in person and online. In all of my years of experience teaching, my students have always found success in their singing. I then went onto the University of Bridgeport where in 2013 I received my Bachelors of Music with a focus on Education. During my time studying music I have learned countless instruments, methods, producing, recording, studio work, and more. I have played with multiple bands over 200 shows, in multiple states as well as composing for Jingles, Television, Film, The internet and Video Games. I love teaching and hope to teach my entire life. Read More

Piano Students: I work only with beginners and I use Suzuki Method supplemented with songs of the student's choice. Voice Students:While the basis for my vocal technique is rooted in the classical Bel Canto tradition, my students do not end up having a "classical" sound (unless that is what they want). I firmly believe in the value of training versatile singers. We work on text analysis, and performing techniques that are specific to the style the student wishes to sing in. Read More

I like to begin with the basics of singing technique, sight reading, and music theory. In order to be a successful singer, one must be proficient in all of these! I like to assign music by the second or third lesson, depending on the student's readiness and ability. I typically assign one classical and/or one musical theater song, depending on the student's interest. I start with only these two genres because I feel that singing something that the student can hear on the radio can be difficult to sing while implementing the new technique they are learning in lessons with me. For all of my students, I let them pick a song (vocal) or piece (violin) that they would like to sing or play. This way I can analyze what level they are on. For my voice students, I start with vocal warm-up exercises of the different vowels. It helps me to understand their range as well as tone of voice. For my violin students, I usually stick with the Suzuki Method, or Essential Elements books, if they are in the more beginning stages. Read More
