My teaching experience started the last year of attending Heidelberg University when I was required to instruct a high school student drum lessons as part of my internship. After graduation in 1991 I had my first vocal student in my home. In 1995 is when I had my first experience teaching in a music store environment. The store was known as Howland's Music World and was there until 1997. I have taught lessons on-and-off throughout my college career. This began about five years ago when a few of my friends communicated interest in learning various instruments. What started as casual pointers then developed into structured half-hour lessons each week. As a music therapist, I also have experience teaching adaptive lessons for those with developmental and intellectual disabilities. I proceeded on teaching music in a wonderful camp to students ranging from 5 to 14 years old and the most memorable moments were the closing ceremony performances. I was so proud, moved, and deeply touched by the performances. Realizing how much my students had progressed and most importantly it was very powerful to recognize how much they gained confidence in themselves. Moreover, I had the honor of teaching vocal feminization, masculinization and androgyny to 16 - 40 year old students.
